Golf Architect: JH Duncan Golf Architects (2021)
When James Duncan landed his third project in Morocco Artisan Golf Design was only too pleased to get back to the Kingdom of Golf and help out. The scope of the project was to redesign all greens, tees and bunkers and remove around 4,000 invasive eucalyptus trees which had started to completely dominate the playing corridors.
The dream team of Arturo Escobar, Chino Garcia and David MacIndoe did the heavy lifting. Benjamin helped out by reshaping the greens and bunkering on a couple of par threes.
Royal Golf El Jadida is connected to the charming Pullman Mazagan resort hotel, which, after lodging there during the build, Benjamin can heartily recommend.
On Morocco’s Atlantic coast the wind is an ever-present factor. Golf at El Jadida winds in and out of the forest before a beautiful finishing stretch that runs alongside the ocean. With a pure sand base and a new maintenance program forthcoming Royal Golf El Jadida is on course for great things.
